>>>>> IMPORTANT RIDE INFORMATION - PLEASE READ <<<<<

•  Rides marked with an '*' below are Chapter Rides. Chapter Rides are closed events which are open to chapter members and only one guest per member.
•  A "Chapter Ride" is defined as the period of time between sign-up at the starting point and "kickstands down" at the final Chapter Ride destination of the day. Before departure on a Chapter Ride, we will sign the HOG-required ride release forms, perform a "quick check" on the tires, and conduct our mandatory safety talk before kickstands up.
•  Most of our rides are destination rides where the ride ends with kickstands down at the specified ride destination. For those riders unfamiliar with Arizona and/or the destination, please speak-up, one of the Road Captains or fellow riders will be more than happy to ride back with you to more familiar surroundings.
•  Prior to each Chapter Ride a safety talk is given by the leading Road Captain. All attendees on a Chapter Ride must be present for the safety talk in its entirety otherwise they will not be allowed to attend the ride.
•  All of our Chapter Rides begin in one of 3 locations: Arrowhead Harley Davidson, Starbucks - SW corner of Grand Avenue & Reems Rd, or the Chevron station - N. 51st Ave & Loop 101. Always arrive at the specified Meet Time with a FULL tank of gas. Do not assume you have enough fuel for a ride as the route is up to the leading Road Captain and he/she often take the "scenic" route.
•  Attending 10 Chapter Rides in their entirety in one calendar year earns the member a Progressive Ride Pin or a Ride Pin “Star” for 10+ rides in multiple years.
 Always call the Swine Line (623-825-4268) before a Chapter Ride. The ride could be cancelled or the departure time/location could be changed up to 2 hours before the ride for various reasons (weather, road conditions, etc). The Activities Officer or designee will update the Swine Line up to 2 hours before the published ride departure date/time if there are changes to the ride.

Note: FYI rides are NOT Chapter Rides therefore they do not count toward the progressive ride pin. FYI rides are just friends getting together, enjoying some good food, and great company.

When the original owner arrived with his new liquor license and a celebratory bottle of whiskey, he appointed the only non-drinker present at the time to pour the first drinks. The Roadrunner was also once so inundated with water that they changed the name to the “New River Yacht Club.” (The original sign is still hanging. Come in and try to find it!)
The large Roadrunner sign seen on the roof is a replica of the one seen in the movie “Beyond the Law” starring Charlie Sheen. The original Roadrunner can be seen on the fence in the backyard.

After learning he had tuberculosis Gulley moved from Seattle, Washington, to the Phoenix area and began building the house from found or inexpensive materials. Boyce Gulley died in 1945, and Mary Lou and her mother were notified by attorney that they had inherited the property. Shortly after, the mother and daughter moved in. Said to be held together by a combination of motar, cement, calcium, and goat milk, the sprawling 18-room, three story castle is built from a wide range of materials - stone, adobe, automobile parts, salvaged rail tracks from a mine, telephone poles, etc. It features a chapel, cantina, and a dungeon. Parts of the castle remain unfinished, and electricity and plumbing weren't added until 1992.

* July 24 - Ride to the Roadhouse in Bellemont AZ

Though Bellemont is pretty much a ghost town, it has recently seen a small revival as a "Biker Friendly Town.” Ironically, Bellemont was where part of the movie "Easy Rider” was filmed when outlaw bikers played by Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper stopped in front of the Pine Breeze Motel. Trying to rent a room, a door is cracked, but when the proprietor spies their motorcycles, the glowing "NO VACANCY” sign begins to blink at the motel. The riders end up continuing down Route 66 and sleeping in the woods.
Not so today. Bellemont is home to the Grand Canyon Harley-Davidson dealership and the Route 66 Roadhouse Bar & Grill, where bikers are welcomed with enthusiasm.  It is on the 2.5 acres where the Pine Breeze Motel resides, that the Bar & Grill was built.

* August 7-8 - Coronado Trail Ride (2-day ride)

The Spaniard Francisco Vásquez de Coronado became the first known European to lead an expedition into the USA when, in 1540, he and a large group of settlers crossed the Mexican border near the Huachuca Mountains, site of the present day Coronado National Memorial. From here they headed northeast, over the White Mountains in the east of the state and then, after side trips to Hopi land and the Grand Canyon, continued through New Mexico and into Kansas. Their route through Arizona coincides largely with US 191 (formerly US 666), and the 123 mile section between Clifton and Springerville is named as the Coronado Trail to commemorate the exploration, though as with the national memorial there is no visible trace of the expedition. Instead the route, or indeed all of US 191, is a showcase for the varied and spectacular scenery of eastern Arizona, from the Sonoran Desert grasslands and valleys of the southeast corner, across the steep and heavily wooded White Mountains, down into the more barren lava fields and red plains of the Petrified Forest region and finally into the sandy expanses of the Navajo Indian Nation.
The group will be staying at Reeds Lodge, 514 E Main St, Springerville AZ at . For reservations, call 928-333-4323. Room rates approximately $65.00. Each person makes their own reservations.
Meet at Chevron station - 51st Ave & Loop 101 @ 6:00 AM.

* August 7 - Globe Lunch Ride

This ride is to Globe AZ for lunch.
